The Literacy & Learning Center brought holiday cheer to the streets of Highlands as staff, board members, volunteers, and students participated in the annual holiday parade. The TL&LC float, adorned with festive decorations, was filled with children from the after-school and pre-K programs. As the float went down Main Street, staff and volunteers walked alongside, distributing books to children lining the parade route.
These books, generously purchased in part by the Highlands Rotary Club - Mountaintop ensured that the joy of reading would spread throughout the community. This generosity and the excitement of the parade made for a heartwarming morning that the community can be proud of.
The fun didn't stop there. After the parade, TL&LC hosted a gingerbread decorating activity for students and their families. With hot cocoa warming cold hands, everyone enjoyed decorating their gingerbread men. It was a nice way to continue the holiday cheer and spend time with others.
TL&LC is deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate in this beloved tradition and spread holiday cheer through the gift of books and festive fun. We couldn't have done it without the support of our community.
