Job Description: The Literacy and Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an Assistant Pre-K Teacher. This position is ideal for someone who possesses excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish, has a warm and nurturing personality, and is committed to fostering the growth and development of young children.
Responsibilities:
Classroom Support:
Assist the lead teacher in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for pre-kindergarten students.
Support the implementation of age-appropriate curriculum and educational activities.
Lead small groups and provide one-on-one assistance to students as needed.
Bilingual Communication:
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff in both English and Spanish.
Foster a culturally inclusive environment that values diversity and celebrates different backgrounds.
Recess Monitoring:
Supervise and monitor students during outdoor and indoor recess activities.
Ensure the safety and well-being of students while promoting positive social interactions.
Initiative and Teamwork:
Know when to listen and follow instructions and when to take initiative in addressing classroom needs.
Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to create a cohesive and supportive teaching team.
Professional Development:
Attend staff meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
Stay informed about best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements:
GED or High School Diploma
Fluency in written and spoken Spanish
Infant/child CPR and First Aid Certification
Must pass Health screening
Ability to pass a background check
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team
Passion for working with young children and promoting their holistic development
