On February 6, the Highlands Rotary Club hosted a Bingo Tournament, bringing together community members for an evening of fun, friendly competition, and philanthropy. Rotary Bingo Nights, held to support local nonprofit organizations, was a tremendous success, raising essential funds for programs that make a lasting impact in Highlands and beyond.
This year, The Literacy & Learning Center was honored to be the beneficiary of the February 6 Bingo night. Proceeds from Bingo will directly support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a program that provides free books to children under five years old. Thanks to the generosity of the Highlands Rotary Club and the community, enough funds were raised to provide 39 children with books every month for an entire year, fostering a love of reading from an early age.
The Literacy & Learning Center’s Executive Director, Bonnie Potts, shared her gratitude, saying: “On behalf of The Literacy & Learning Center, I want to express our sincere gratitude to the Highlands Rotary Club for their unwavering support over the years. Their dedication to our community and commitment to education have made a lasting impact on the lives of so many children and families. I also would like to thank the community members who came to Bingo Night. Thank you for believing in our mission and for helping us provide free educational programs. Your support truly makes a difference!”
The Literacy & Learning Center is proud to be part of a community that values education and literacy. A special thank you to Highlands Rotary Club for making this event possible and for continuing to invest in the future of local children through their support.
