As the lazy days of summer fade and the new school year creeps closer, many parents find themselves juggling back-to-school preparations. A key consideration for working families is after-school learning opportunities for their children. The Literacy & Learning Center's after-school program provides a welcome solution that's both fun and enriching for students in grades K-8.
TL&LC provides a safe and nurturing environment where your child can thrive after the final school bell rings. They won't just be filling time until pick-up. This program offers a variety of engaging activities designed to support academic achievement, social development, and overall well-being – all free of charge!
For students needing a little extra help, our program provides dedicated time for homework assistance. Caring and experienced staff and volunteers can answer questions, clarify concepts, and ensure your child stays on top of their schoolwork. But learning goes beyond textbooks at TL&LC. The program is designed to spark creativity and imagination through arts and crafts projects, get kids moving with fun physical activities, and provide a space for them to relax and unwind with engaging games.
Our commitment extends beyond academics. Staff understand the importance of social-emotional development in young children. Your child will find opportunities to build friendships, develop communication skills, and learn healthy ways to manage their emotions. In this supportive environment, your child will gain the confidence and social skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
If you're looking for an after-school program that keeps your child engaged, supported, and excited to learn, look no further than TL&LC. Registration is now open for the 2024-25 school year. Don't wait – contact Caroline Cox at 828-526-0863 or CCox@TheLiteracyandLearningCenter.org to secure your child's spot and give them the gift of a fun and enriching after-school experience! We can't wait to welcome them to our program this fall.
